Tom Cruise reportedly has "issues" with a new movie thought to be based on the founder of Scientology, L Ron Hubbard.
The feelings from the actor - who recently came a divorce settlement with estranged wife Katie Holmes - came to light when he recently saw Paul Thomas Anderson's new movie The Master, according to the New York Post newspaper.
A full length trailer starring Joaquin Phoenix and Phillip Seymour Hoffman was released by The Weinstein Company last week, but the motion picture's director denied claims it was referring to Scientology.
Former Scientologist, Marc Headley, obtained a copy of the screenplay, and told The Daily Beast website: "I can tell you that even if Scientology comes out with a statement that this movie is NOT about L Ron Hubbard or Scientology, this movie is the biggest fictional middle finger ever flown their way."
The screenplay has numerous similarities to Scientology, according to Marc, who belonged to Scientology's elite Sea Org group.
