A flight attendant aboard a private jet got a first-hand look at Russell Crowe's infamous wrath this week when the actor awoke to find they were out of his preferred meal.
New York correspondents for The Australian newspaper report that New Zealand-born Crowe raged at a flight attendant on a private jet, when the attendant served his chicken satay meal to his wife Danielle Spencer.
"If I tell you I want something, you put it aside for me. Or wake me up. Is there some kind of language barrier here?" Crowe reportedly shouted at the attendant.
The actor, who was on a promotional tour for his film A Good Year, reportedly has a specific list of culinary requests when he travels, including red curry beef, chicken and cashews, white-flesh fish, passionfruit, yoghurt and dandelion tea.
According to reports, Crowe was asleep when his wife ate a meal of chicken satay. When he awoke to find there was none left, he began his abusive tirade on the flight attendant.
Crowe's attorney John H Lavely denies the reports, however, issuing a five-page statement slamming the allegations.
Lavely claims Crowe has been "nothing less than a model citizen during the publicity tour".
Crowe is renowned for his volatile temper and hit headlines in June 2005 after assaulting a hotel employee with a telephone.
