Ask any man and they will probably tell you 48 seconds is a really long time. Though I doubt the aspiring filmmakers who took part in the V48Seconds Mildly Furious Filmmaking competition would agree.
The challenge is part of the warm up to the infamous V Energy 48 Hours Furious Filmmaking competition happening this weekend.
The contest ran from April 8 - May 6 and all applicants were invited to submit a clip based on an epic movie from the past, reshoot it in 48 seconds and, naturally, have a "savvy V twist."
The winner - judged by the salubrious adjudicating team of award-winning actress Robyn Malcolm, TV3 film buff David Farrier, and yours truly with zip experience - whittled the finalists to the top five and picked an overall winner.
He is Rollo Wenlock from Wellington and his V48Seconds entry Terminator Salivation was described by the experts as "slick" (Farrier), "polished" (Malcolm) and "a clear winner" (Glucina).
He takes home a $1000 bucks, a year's supply of V, four iPod Nanos, a Toshiba TV, DVD, merchandise and the accolade of seeing his film played to the nation on C4 during the V48Hours series (June 8-19). Pretty cool, eh?
