The winners of this year's Cadbury Creme Egg Gooeys Film Festival have been announced, with a horror spoof and a birds and bees-themed short film taking top honours.
Kiwi chocolate lovers were invited to buy a Cadbury Creme Egg, choose a unique and creative method by which to unleash its goo, film it and upload the video to unleashthegoo.co.nz.
The 179 videos entered were scored by a panel of judges from Cadbury and across the creative and media industries on a number of criteria, including originality, effort and entertainment value.
The Grand Gooey for 2009 was awarded to David Gifford from Manawatu for his film Tinfoil Face, a horror movie spoof montage.
The judges said Gifford's film combined original thinking with innovative goo-unleashing, and had them on the edge of their seats.
The people's choice award, presented to the creator of the most-viewed video on unleashthegoo.co.nz, went to Christchurch teenager Issac Westenra.
Issac, the younger brother of singer Hayley Westenra, delivered a film entitled Mummy Where Do Creme Eggs Come From?, which depicts a romance between a Creme Egg couple.
