Rant-happy and volatile rock chick
Courtney Love
has launched a bitter attack on daughter
Frances Bean Cobain
after losing temporary legal custody of her.
Love, 45, attacked her 17-year-old daughter on Facebook following a judge's decision that the teenager be
placed under temporary guardianship
of her parental grandmother and
Kurt Cobain
's sister.
The reason behind the custody hasn't been made clear, although the jungle drums report that Love may have had a drug relapse. But her lawyer denies the reports, insisting his client is "clean".
Her lawyer told
People
magazine: "Courtney's been clean for years and is perfectly fine.
"This is simply about Frances preferring to live with her grandmother at this time - Frances is 17 and a strong-willed child, and this is a decision she made on her own."
Not a happy bunny
Put it this way, Love's not exactly feeling the love for her daughter after she chose to live with her in-laws.
In a series of scathing rants on the social networking site, a fuming Love piped up and addressed the maternal rift.
She wrote: "I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this s*** has lost her position... she was deceptive, she lied and she's lying to herself...
"My daughter is not always honest."
The Hole singer also kindly reminded her daughter, for her own welfare obviously, that she's not as rich as she thinks she is. Oh, and subtly pointed out that it's mummy dearest who is in control of the stash of cash Cobain left his clan.
"The fact is fbc (Frances Bean Cobain) is deluded.
"She thinks she has all this money. The point is I have all the money she has."
She added: "Frances is clearly deluded that she can buy her grandmother a small house in LA. I'd love to see how that works. They'll incubate her (sic) til shes 18 and then have her sign all the (sic) indnemofications."
'Don't worry, Frances is a wonderful kid...'
But all is not lost. Despite publicly trashing her daughter for the entire world to see, the mouthy singer still thinks the world of her.
She wrote: "Don't worry, Frances is a wonderful kid, she's got bad people around her and wants it both ways.
"You could've asked for emancipation... you realise this will put you in juvenile family circus three times in your little life?"
Talk about passive-agressive.
"I love you and always will unconditionally."
What a wonderful way of showing it, Love. Poor Frances probably scorched the carpet making her escape from chez mama.
This isn't the first time Love's lost custody of her daughter. Same thing happened in 2003 for just shy of two years if we recall.
Update:
In not-so-surprising news...following her spleen-venting on Facebook,
now reports that a judge has just issued a restraining order barring Love from having any contact with her daughter.
The website says a court hearing will be held on January 5 to make the order permanent.
What a class act.
Mad as a bag of snakes, the lot of 'em.
