"Can someone inform me who Alan Thicke's son is? Like what? Wasn't [he on] Charles in Charge?" she asked. "That's like Jared Leto trying to convince me he's a rock star."
And she didn't stop there.
When New York Magazine's The Cut later caught up with Love for a confab, the singer chimed in on Gwyneth Paltrow's alleged feud with Vanity Fair.
Word around the campfire is that Paltrow has emailed friends asking them to boycott the glossy magazine.
"Vanity Fair is threatening to put me on the cover of their magazine. If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again," the New York Times claims Paltrow wrote.
Per the Times, the fallout reportedly stems from the mag's new "tough" coverage on Hollywood and the glitterati.
Given the lowdown on the reported feud, Love declared: "Gwyneth is one of my best friends. If Gwyneth says don't do it, then f*** you, Vanity Fair! I'm going to stick up for her and be very articulate and you're going to publish every word I say!"
She continued, "If she had something she wanted to sell, or a movie or something like that, then she'd go to her publicist and say, 'Let's do Vanity Fair.' For Vanity Fair to do a write-around about Gwyneth is uncool and déclassé and boring and terrible of them.
"And it just shows you where Vanity Fair has fallen. They have Taylor f****** Swift on the cover getting a puppy."
On her comments about Perry, Love added: "I'm not trying to be a bitch - she's a nice girl. But she just bores me."
She also weighed in on Lady Gaga.
"She's going through a lot of changes, and has been hanging out with Marina [Abramovic] and also my friend Klaus [Biesenbach], and sort of discovering that side of herself. I really like the natural thing [she's doing lately] - I mean, I'm sure she'll go back to Gothic stuff," she said.
"She's been around gay guys her whole life, and I think she's finally trying to get her own identity and find out who she is. I thought it was very brave of her at the VMAs to put boos in her audio track."
'IF PEOPLE CAN TAKE THEIR MINDS OFF THE OBVIOUS...'
Meanwhile, Cyrus has a message for the finger-waggers who've drawn a sharp intake of breath over her provocative Wrecking Ball video.
The 20-year-old singer hit the headlines earlier this week for the Terry Richardson-directed clip, in which she straddles a swinging wrecking ball in the buff (save for a pair of boots), and suggestively licks a sledgehammer.
But Cyrus says there's more to the clip than just the obvious nudity.
"I think the video is much more [than that]," Cyrus said during an interview with New York's Z100 radio station on Wednesday. "If people get past the point I make, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds."
The twerking queen continued, "The song is a pop ballad. It's one of these songs that everyone is going to relate to, everyone has felt that feeling at one point.
"If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination and see what the video really means, it is so vulnerable. Actually, if you look at my eyes I look more sad than actually my voice sounds on the record."
She added, "It was a lot harder to actually do the video than it was to even record the song. It was much more of an emotional experience."
As for the buzz and backlash surrounding her video and MTV VMA performance, Cyrus says she's taking it in her stride.
"Anything I do becomes such a big deal," she said. "I'm just having fun. Whatever people label it as, it doesn't really matter. I always want to switch it up."
