Former Friends star Courteney Cox has admitted she regrets some of the cosmetic procedures she has undergone in the past.
The 42-year-old actress was in a sharing mood during an episode Running Wild With Bear Grylls, telling the adventurer that getting older in Hollywood "is not the easiest thing".
"I think there's a pressure to maintain [your looks], not just because of fame, but just, you know, being a woman in this business," she said.
"Getting older has not been ... I don't think it's the easiest thing. But I have learned lessons. You know, I think I was trying to keep up with getting older, trying to chase that ... you know, it's something you can't keep up with.
"Sometimes you find yourself trying and then you look at a picture of yourself and go, 'Oh, God.' Like, you look horrible. I have done things that I regret, and luckily they're things that dissolve and go away. So, that's good, because it's not always been my best look. So, now I just have a new motto: 'Just let it be.'"
Cox also opened up to Grylls about the breakdown of her marriage to David Arquette, with whom she has a daughter called Coco Riley Arquette.
"I think that we were such good friends," Cox said.
"We found ourselves leading separate lives and just coexisting and being great friends, but not having the intimacy that ... is so important in a relationship. I think you really need to work in a relationship, and I think that we tried.
"We're just really different, too. I'm the polar opposite of him. That can be great for a lot of things, but I need this kind of real, one-on-one connection.
"It wasn't a dramatic ending ... I mean, as divorces go, I would say it's one of the better ones. For sure. We're good co-parents together."
Cox is currently in a relationship with Snow Patrol band member Johnny McDaid.
The couple announced their engagement in 2014 but then broke up over a year later.
"The way he regards love is precious," Cox said about McDaid.
"We have to treat it in a different way. It's more special. You coddle it. So, I didn't know how to regard love the way he does ... I didn't know how to bring it in. It was always external. I definitely have learned a lot, and no matter what, I will be a better person from that breakup, even though it was so brutal."
Cox is just one of the many celebrities who appears in season three of Running Wild with Bear Grylls and from the sounds of it, she had a fairly unpleasant experience.
Grylls recently opened up to the New York Post about what the former sitcom star had to eat during her episode.
"Poor Courteney, we found this dead sheep in this swamp and I thought, I wonder if we can get some nice lamb off this," Grylls said.
"I stuck a knife in it and it's absolutely rotten, an explosion of maggots came out of this carcass. I thought, we can't eat this meat, but we could eat the maggots. We'll take them back to camp and cook them up.
"She said, 'What would we carry them in?' I cut the testicle sack off the sheep and took the testicles out and stuffed it full of maggots, tied it in a little bow and stuffed it in my boiling water back at camp. Poor Courteney, she e-mailed me about it about a week after to say 'I think I'm still suffering post-traumatic stress'."
