It's not a Breaking Bad remake, but there are a few thematic similarities in this new British/French TV series created by Esquire (yes, the magazine) which make it comparable.
Jean Bastiere is a conservative Frenchman, leading an orderly life in London as a businessman, husband, father and occasional lover. But a midlife crisis is looming, his money problems look set to catch up with him, and his business is a little unusual - Clear Sky is a cleaning company specialising in suicide and crime scenes, erasing all traces of death.
When his older, wilder brother Martin turns up needing Jean's help, life rapidly changes and the two quickly find themselves embroiled in dark tales of gangsters, and the sleazy world of organised crime. As they lurch from morbid events to mad situations, the Bastiere brothers are forced to face up to past secrets and traumas which have never been resolved. The stars include French Canadian actor Marc-Andre Grondin, French actor Denis Menochet, English actress Miranda Raison (Spooks, Silk, 24), and Downton Abbey's Brendan Coyle as a mob boss.
