Coronavirus in Hollywood: All the stars who have Covid-19

Coronavirus has well and truly arrived in Hollywood.

Just over a week on from Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson's shock COVID-19 diagnosis, several other high-profile figures have also announced they've tested positive.

The latest star to join the growing list of infected celebrities is Younger's Debi Mazar, who explained on social media that she, her husband and two teenage daughters had first shown symptoms ("low-grade fever, headaches, sore throat, body aches, ears ringing and a dry cough") a month ago, but it had "cleared up quickly", so she'd assumed it was "seasonal" although it felt "unusual/different".

"Two weeks later, March 15th, I woke up with all those same symptoms but super intense body aches, and 102.4 (39.1 degrees Celsius) fever. I figured maybe I got the flu or … Corona?" Mazar wrote.

"I had had cocktails the evening prior and smoked a few cigarettes. I figured I had jacked my immune system from having a fun night with friends."

I have just tested positive for Covid-19.I AM OK! About a month ago my entire home(husband and two teen daughters) got an odd bug- Low grade fever,headaches,sore throat,body aches,ears ringing and a dry cough.It cleared up quickly.Seasonal I thought?but it felt unusual/different... I figured I had jacked my immune system from having a fun night with friends.I called a doctor/friend to ask if I could get the Covid-19 test on 3/16.He said NO,I didn’t meet the criteria.I hadn’t recently traveled out of the country&I hadnt been with someone who had actually tested positive.I found this kind of a CRAZY criteria for a NY’er as I had taken the subway,gone to the theater,the grocery store,the pharmacy,hair salon,etc.I was the Mom who was trying to prepare the home and get supplies&bleach wipes,dry goods.extra food etc. Because we have Italian family in Italy and we follow the news closely,my biggest panic was why were they not closing schools in NYC &forbidding movement outside the home without permission,like China and all of Europe? Prospect Park yesterday,i hear was jumpin’! A friend told me that CityMD/Urgent Care in my neighborhood had test kits,which appealed to me as I wanted to stay away from the hospital. I went on 3/17.First I was tested for the flu-which was negative.Then they tested me for Covid-19. I was sent home and told to quarantine myself until I had results,which would take 3-7 days(in S.Korea it takes two hours) Well..today is day 5 and I just found out.Im hoping I’ve been through the worst of it already.Its very “morphy”.One day I feel crappy and the next I’m normal.Today my lungs are heavy,but I’m tough. I can breath,and I’m going to heal here,in my own home!My family is under quarantine for 14 days.They have no symptoms.I think we all had it possibly already?Who knows. Deciding to play it safe, the actress contacted her friend, a doctor, to ask if she could get the COVID-19 test but was told no because she "didn't meet the criteria" as she "hadn't recently travelled out of the country" or met with "someone who had actually tested positive".

Eventually, she managed to get a test kit from a local health outlet and received the positive result five days later.

"I'm hoping I've been through the worst of it already … One day I feel crappy and the next I'm normal. Today my lungs are heavy, but I'm tough. I can breath, and I'm going to heal here, in my own home! My family is under quarantine for 14 days."

Meanwhile, following the announcement that her husband Idris Elba had been infected, US actress and model Sabrina Dhowre revealed over the weekend that she also had the virus currently bringing the world to a standstill.

"I've been tested – actually, I found out this morning, Oprah, that I tested positive," Dhowre told Oprah Winfrey on Saturday as she sat alongside her husband for a video chat from their quarantine in New Mexico.

Dhowre, 31, insisted she was "not surprised" – and never questioned staying with the Luther star after his confirmed infection.

"I wanted to be with him. That's the instinct of a wife. You want to go and take care," she said.

Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen, 51, also recently confirmed he'd been diagnosed with coronavirus.

"After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for coronavirus," he announced on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself looking sombre.

"As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we're putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better."

Last week, Nine presenter Wilkins and singer-songwriter Thelma Plum became two of the first Aussie celebrities to test positive for coronavirus.

Wilkins revealed his infection after getting tested as a precaution following Wilson's diagnosis. The pair had briefly spent time together at her Sydney concert days earlier and again at the Nine studios when she came in for a Today Extra interview.

Hello folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Meanwhile, Plum, 25, posted a picture of herself in hospital and let her followers know she was diagnosed with COVID-19 last Sunday.

"I am currently being managed by the Brisbane Metro North Public Health Unit and they're taking very good care of me," she wrote.

"At this time the Dr wants to keep me here until at least Friday, but the rules around being released are constantly changing."

G’day 👩🏽‍🔬 I just wanna let everyone know that unfortunately yesterday morning I was informed my test for Covid-19 came back positive. I am currently being managed by the Brisbane Metro North Public Health Unit and they’re taking very good care of me. At this time the Dr wants to keep me here until at least Friday, but the rules around being released are constantly changing. Tbh I don’t even really know where to begin, what a wild ride this last month has been for the world. All I can do is stress how important it is to be kind and compassionate to each other during this time & that we need to be looking out for & prioritising the most vulnerable people. This means skip that party, bar, restaurant or show you really want to go to & practice social distancing. I cannot stress enough how much this virus has the potential to severely harm our communities (particularly our Indigenous communities). We need to know that the public health system is going to care for our communities. If you’re feeling anxious or concerned you could contact your local Aboriginal Medical Service for initial advice. Alternatively you could contact the Coronavirus Health Information Line which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week on PH: 1800 020 080. Looking after your mental health during the coronavirus outbreak is key so be sure to link up with places such as Beyond Blue by phone or webchat on 1300 22 4636. The lack of action taken by the government has left me feeling quite anxious and hopeless, as it has many other people. Schools need to be shut down but there needs to be structures in place that can ensure low income families and vulnerable people aren’t being left in the dark. People need to work from home and if they aren’t able to the government needs to step in & financially help. Putting a temporary moratorium on things like rent, bills & mortgages could be a great start. I also want to thank the incredible staff here, the nurses, doctors, the nice man Steve who comes in to change the bins.  To say they’ve gone above and beyond is an understatement.
