Corey Haim will be buried in his native Canada.
The 'Lost Boys' star died aged 38 at the Los Angeles home he shared with his mother on Wednesday and his family want his final resting place to be in Toronto, Ontario, where he was born.
His manager Marc Haislip told Us Weekly magazine: "His family want to do it back home but there will be a memorial in Los Angeles."
It had been alleged the 80s heartthrob died of a prescription drugs overdose but his mother Judy insists the cause of death was pulmonary congestion.
A post-mortem examination on his body was completed last night and Judy was told by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office that her son had an enlarged heart and fluid in his lungs at the time of his death.
The coroner has yet to confirm whether tests revealed the presence of any of the medication found in four bottles in the actor's room, which included valium, vicodin and muscle relaxant soma.
Judy – who is battling cancer – is said to be struggling to cope with her son's death.
Marc added: "She's not doing well at all. This is really hitting her."
Corey moved in with his mother to help care for her during her illness.
She told US TV show Access Hollywood "I am a cancer victim and Corey was helping me at home. He was a good boy. I'm devastated by his death."
Corey shot to fame in the 80s after appearing in a string of popular movies, including The Lost Boys, which also starred Kiefer Sutherland.
Corey had made no secret of his battles with drug abuse and in 2000 he confessed to taking large quantities of the sedative valium every day.
But it appeared to be a battle he had won and in 2004 he claimed he had overcome his substance abuse problems, saying: "I'm clean, sober, humble and happy."
