KEY POINTS:
Comedian Mike King is expected to return home in the next few days after what he says was "the worst week of his life".
The 44-year-old was hospitalised in Melbourne a week ago after collapsing from a brain clot that subsequently triggered a stroke and temporary paralysis. He was in Australia on holiday attending a million-dollar poker game.
King's health problems were compounded by the death of his father-in-law, Toko Nathan, 75, on Monday.
Yesterday from his Melbourne hospital bed, King spoke of the "overwhelming support" received and the anguish of not being able to attend Nathan's funeral.
"Toko told me to go over to Aussie and win all their money and he'd help me spend it. A great man with a great sense of humour, I will miss him," King said.
