Get ready for an avalanche of confetti, lasers, and fireworks because Coldplay have announced that they will be returning to New Zealand at the end of the year for one show at Mount Smart Stadium on Saturday December 3 as part of their world tour for A Head Full Of Dreams.
It will be the first time the British four-piece have performed in New Zealand since November 2012, when they were here to promote their fifth album Mylo Xyloto, and impressed the crowd with their huge light show, giant bouncing balloon figures, and the synchronised flashing wristbands which were given to everyone in the crowd.
They set the bar high with that performance, but lead singer Chris Martin has promised they have plenty more impressive elements to show off with the new tour, and they're excited to play current hits like Hymn For The Weekend (which features Beyonce), Adventure of a Lifetime, and Up & Up, which are perfectly suited to a grand stadium performance.
