Coldplay have donated $16,000 to a quadruple amputee to help with rehabilitation and equipment.
Alex Lewis lost all four limbs plus his mouth and nose last year after contracting a rare infection, and the Yellow hitmakers donated the substantial sum after hearing of the charitable trust he set up to help fellow amputees.
Frontman Chris Martin followed the generous hand-out with an email, which read, "I was very moved by your story having read about it recently and wanted to reach out and say how incredible your approach to life is and inspiring... It seems like you have been on an amazing journey and handled it with awesome force... I hope you are doing good and thank you for renewing my faith in life."
