KEY POINTS:
George Clooney has branded himself the 'Hillary Clinton of the Oscars', insisting there is 'no way' he will win the Best Actor award over fellow nominee Daniel Day-Lewis.
"There is no way Daniel Day-Lewis won't win," Clooney, nominated for his role in Michael Clayton, tells Time magazine in a new interview.
"For me, it's like being Hillary Clinton. If it weren't for Barack Obama, it would have been a very good year."
For the record, Clooney has always been a vocal supporter of Barack Obama's campaign.
In fact, Clooney does not think there is much hope for Michael Clayton at all.
" If [Michael Clayton] has a shot at anything, it's best supporting actress with Tilda Swinton."
According to Time magazine's Joel Stein, who wrote the feature on the actor, Clooney might be right.
"He says he has never lost an Oscar pool in his entire life," Stein told Access Hollywood.
"I don't know much about the Oscars. I took his word for it. I am not putting money on Clooney."
