Chvrches frontwoman Lauren Mayberry has shut down a heckler who asked her to marry him.
The Scottish electronic group was on a break between songs during a New York concert last week when a punter yelled, "Marry me, marry me now".
Taking no guff, Mayberry responded: "Oh come on. What'sthe hit rate on that? When you go into public places and ask women you don't know if they want to wed you?
"Does that work out well for you sir?" the lead singer said, to cheers from the crowd.
Mayberry is known for hitting out at misogyny and sexist abuse.
Earlier this year, she was threatened with rape and branded a slut by online trolls over the band's music video, to Leave A Trace, in which she wears a short black dress and has wet look hair.
At the concert at Central Park, she responded by suggesting fans would know her views on this.
"I assume, because you're here, that you know a bit about our band, I'm very grumpy, and I don't want that s**t," she said.
