KEY POINTS:
Christina Aguilera has finally confirmed what the rest of the world has suspected for months - the superstar is expecting her first child.
Aguilera confirmed her pregnancy in an upcoming issue of Glamour magazine, saying she would "enter into mommyhood" at the start of next year.
Aguilera said her husband, music executive Jordan Bratman, was excited about the prospect of becoming a father.
"He's thrilled! He's just great", Aguilera told Glamour.
"He's so supportive and amazing through everything. He came with me on the last leg of the tour and he was my support system... I gush. I'm a lucky girl."
Aguilera says she wants to be a working mother, and will try to 'balance' the needs of her child with her career.
"I want to get it right," the 26-year-old added.
Aguilera was booked to perform two shows at Auckland's Vector Arena in August but cancelled the perfomances just hours before the first was supposed to start, saying she was recovering from a virus.
