She tweeted: "Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl... Not cool that we act like that didn't happen.
"He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys."
Gunpowder and Lead is Lambert's 2007 song about a woman preparing to kill her abusive husband when he gets out of jail.
Lambert later added: "As for my tweets 'it's just one clowns (sic) opinion'. I love music and that's what it's all about."
Singer Branch wrote: "Trying not to go off on a rant but...Chris Brown...*bites tongue* have we forgiven him? #Grammys"
The View host Sherri Shepherd also piped up, saying: "Looks like all is forgiven w Chris Brown. That's all I'll say."
Modern Family actor Eric Stonestreet said: "Are Chris brown's mom and dad CBS and Grammy Brown?"
Jack Osbourne also took to the blogging site to share his thoughts on Brown's appearance at the show.
"Chris brown ... people don't forget! #chrisbrownbeatswomen," he wrote. "If Chris Brown had worn a wife beater, the irony would eclipse the whole show #chrisbrownbeatswomen."
Chimed actor Wil Wheaton: "Everyone who apparently forgot what Chris Brown did to Rihanna should read the police report on exactly what he did."
While Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich defended Brown. "I just believe people deserve a second chance," he said. "The year he had this year, really brought him back into the public. He really deserved a second chance."
'Hate all u want becuz I got a Grammy now!'
Brown has since taken to Twitter to hit back at his critics.
"HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That's the ultimate F*** OFF," he wrote.
He later deleted it, but not before the folks over at Mashable took a screengrab.
"IM BACK SO WATCH MY BaCK as I walk away from all this negativity #teambreezygrammy."
He also wrote, according to RadarOnline: "Strange how we pick and choose who to hate! Let me ask u this. Our society is full of rappers (which I listen to) who have sold drugs (poisoning).
"But yet we glorify them and imitate everything they do. Then right before the worlds eyes a man shows how he can make a Big mistake and learn from it, but still has to deal with day to day hatred! You guys love to hate!!! But guess what???"
All of those tweets have since been deleted, presumably by Brown or his handlers.
He later added: "I'm so OVER everyone's opinions.. Really!!!
"DEAR MEDIA.. Ur plan is not working," he said. "I'm not going anywhere so get used to me."
According to Radar, a source claims Brown didn't write the tweets himself.
"Brown didn't Tweet that, someone does his postings to Twitter and when he saw that he ordered it taken down immediately," said the snitch.
