Charli XCX, MØ, Theia and Maddie Ziegler to support Sia's New Zealand show

Sia has announced a stunning all-female support line-up for her upcoming New Zealand concert at Mount Smart Stadium.

Sia will be joined by UK pop star Charli XCX and Danish singer MØ, as well as New Zealand's own rising star Theia. Joining the four singers as a special guest is Maddie Ziegler, a dancer, actor and long-time Sia collaborator.

Ziegler is most recognisable as the star of a number of Sia's music videos, including Chandelier, Elastic Heart and The Greatest. Though famed for her dancing, Ziegler is also an actress, performing alongside Naomi Watts in The Book of Henry and with Kate Hudson in the upcoming Sister, which finds Sia in the director's chair. She's also about to publish her second book - and she only turns 15 at the end of September.

Ziegler has toured with Sia for a number of years, and she describes the singer as her "biggest inspiration".

"She's like another family member to me. She's very caring towards me, she gives me a lot of advice, and she's also very fun," she says.

"Her creative vision is something no one else can do - she's unlike anyone else. She's so creative in a very quirky and fun way, and I feel like everything that she's done hasn't been done before; she reinvents herself every single time. It's really amazing to watch her thought process, and watch everything that goes on behind our music videos, or a film, or our performances."

It's no mean feat that Ziegler is such an accomplished performer at the age of 14. She says she is often underestimated because of her youth, but she's able to rise above and stay focused on her art with firm maturity.

"I think that a lot of people don't think I'm as capable because I'm so young, or they think that I don't know enough to do something, but I've had so many experiences already at my age," says Ziegler.

"I'm very mature for my age - I think I can handle a lot of different things. Obviously, there are boundaries when it comes to what you can and can't say at 14... but I would never do anything that's not appropriate for my age."

Sia's Nostalgic for the Present tour with Charli XCX, MØ, Theia and Maddie Ziegler takes place at Mt Smart Stadium on Tuesday, December 5.
