What is your favourite thing to do in your spare time?
I like riding my motorbike.
Why did you choose that?
Because it's a fun thing to do. I enjoy riding it and when I'm not riding it, it's in the garage and I'm cleaning it and fixing it. Then I'm talking about it. Then me and my mates are all standing around talking about it. It's a hobby. It's just actually looking at my bike. That should be a sport in itself. I can't believe more people don't do it.
What do you enjoy about it?
It's beautiful. It's just a nice feeling. It's like surfing, you know; people who surf really enjoy surfing. For me, riding a bike is like surfing. It's just me and my machine. Me against the world. It makes me feel like a bikie for five minutes.
Is it expensive?
Of course it can be, like any sport or any hobby. I just rebuilt it and I think I told my wife I spent about $2000 on it. I'd hate to tell her how much I really spent. But it looks so cool, it's just so sexy. So that's why we just stand around and look at it now. I spent all winter doing that, sitting in my little man cave with the TV on and a beer and a bit of a clean here and a bit of a polish there. You can never stop, it's endless. And the budget is endless too.
What do your friends and family think about your hobby?
My friend rides motorbikes too. He comes round and looks at it. All my other mates do that too, they come round and look at it and say, 'What a cool bike!' My wife loves it too; she thinks it's fantastic. Especially the finished product after she's seen all the hard work I've put into it and the time that I've spent on it.
