What is your favourite book?
Season of the Jew by Maurice Shadbolt.
Why?
Shadbolt is, in my opinion, the greatest New Zealand writer of all time, and Season of the Jew is the highlight of his magnificent career. I learned a great deal about New Zealand history and the character of our forefathers (white and brown) in this book. In it Shadbolt tells the story of Te Kooti, a former choir boy turned entrepreneur turned prophet. Another epic tale which I recommend to every New Zealander who loves their country like I do.
How many times have you read it?
At least a half a dozen times. Brilliant!
What is your favourite movie?
The Notebook.
Why?
Simply put, The Notebook is the greatest love story of all time. It is a story of perseverance and hope, that reminds us there is no greater gift in life than true love.
