Countless fellow celebrities and fans have taken to Twitter to defend Kim Kardashian West after shock news she was tied up and held at gunpoint in an armed robbery in Paris.
Chrissy Teigen, James Corden and Piers Morgan all spoke out in support of the reality star following news she was locked in the bathroom of the luxury residence by five men reportedly posing as police.
While some trolls suggested the robbery was not newsworthy or suspicious, high-profile friends reminded them she was a mother-of-two and friend, first and foremost.
People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she's a mother,a daughter,a wife,a friend.Be nice or shut up
But while many took to Twitter to send their sympathies to the reality star, there were those who were more cynical, suggesting the robbery may have been suspicious.
Some even asked whether the 35-year-old had orchestrated the whole incident, sharing their theory that the attack was nothing more than a publicity stunt to "drum up" ratings.
"Another hoax to drum up flagging publicity for these parasitic creatures dumbing down the collective IQ," one user tweeted.
Kardashian West is now safely back in New York City with her husband. The couple pulled up outside their Manhattan residence on Monday with an entourage of about 10 vehicles, 15 bodyguards and members of the NYPD, TMZ reports.
Kim's mother Kris Jenner, along with her boyfriend Corey Gamble, also emerged from one of the vehicles. The reality star's bodyguard Pascal Duvier, who was reportedly not in the apartment when the robbery occurred, was also with them.
Kim's spokeswoman said she was "badly shaken, but unharmed" following the incident.
Kanye West hastily cancelled his New York concert mid-show and rushed off stage citing a "family emergency".
