Plans to demolish the Carpenters' former home have angered fans of the 1970s brother-and-sister singing duo.
Manuel and Blanca Melendez Parra, apparently weary of the parade of fans paying homage, have submitted plans to officials in Downey, a city about 24km south of downtown Los Angeles, to raze the 39-year-old, five-bedroom house.
"This house is our version of Graceland," said Carpenters aficionado Jon Konjoyan.
