Cameron Diaz dazzled onlookers despite the presence of her ex, Justin Timberlake, at the British premiere of her new film, Shrek The Third in London last night.
The couple showed there were no ill feelings between them when they embraced just before stepping on to the green carpet.
Diaz, 34, confessed they are still good friends.
"We still love each other. We spent four years together so there is no reason for us not to be friends.
"I always think it's funny when people think, 'Oh you guys must really hate each other now'. And I say, 'No, our paths just went in different directions.' "
The two stars happily posed for pictures together and embraced in full view of onlookers to show there are no hard feelings between them since splitting late last year.
Diaz, 34, reprises her role as the voice of Princess Fiona while singer Timberlake, 26, voices newcomer Artie, Fiona's rebellious cousin.
Hundreds of female fans screamed Timberlake's name at the glittering Leicester Square event.
But Diaz said she did not find being with Timberlake, her partner for more than three years, awkward.
"I really like it. We're friends. It's good to see him, It's great having him around," she said.
Meanwhile Timberlake says he was bullied at school.
The star said he could identify with the animated character Artie he voices in Shrek the Third, because he was a social outcast when he was young.
"I grew up in Tennessee where you either play football or you don't do anything at all so I was a bit of a loner being interested in music. I was not cool. It was football or die!
"I would come to school, and was bit of an outcast but I wasn't bullied too much, thank God. But if I could say one thing to the kids who didn't think I was cool back then it would be, 'Eat it.' "
The 26-year-old heartthrob is currently on a world tour promoting his new album FutureSex/LoveSounds, and is finding time between concerts to publicise the new Shrek movie.
Justin - who has a starring role in four films out this year - admits he is struggling to write any new tracks because of his hectic schedule.
He explained: "It's hard to find time to write songs at the moment. I have to do it on the plane or on the bus in between shows. But I'm working on it."
