The search is on for New Zealand's most talented young artists in the fifth annual Mazda Emerging Artist Awards. The awards give fine art students the chance to share in a cash prize of $17,500 and exhibit and sell their work as part of the Mazda Artworks charity art exhibition and sale at the Hilton Auckland from August 27.
It is open to all third and fourth-year and post-graduate art students studying at fine arts colleges, and students can enter a painting, drawing, photograph or print.
The first place winner receives $10,000, second place is worth $5000 and third place $2500. See www.mazda.co.nz; registrations close July 27.
