PS3
Pros: There are a lot of very good things to say about the Buzz! franchise. Along with the best-selling SingStar karaoke games, Buzz! has essentially become the default party title. The game show series can now be found spread across the Playstation range, from the PSP to the big daddy PS3. It boasts reasonably challenging questions across numerous topics, an ultra-bitchy host (voiced by Jason Donovan) and great graphics. Gone are the days of Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary and Monopoly causing massive game-time rows - it's all digital now, complete with 4000 questions.
Cons: The one massive - and I mean massive - problem with Brain of New Zealand is that it's basically the same old stuff with very little Kiwi content. Cashing in a bumper series like Buzz! is just the thing to injure the brand - and the big-haired quizmaster has got a serious limp on. After a fair amount of time spent in front of the PS3, hoping for some Godzone questions to match the name, they just didn't arrive. Overseas reviews indicate that other versions - like the Australian and the English ones - do what they purport to do.
Verdict: Buzz! is a great series, but this could be one of several titles already released - by name it's a Kiwi special, in reality it's just the same thing in a different suit.
