A "special" Christchurch concert by legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen has sold out today in what promoters say is a "record" time.
Tickets for Springsteen's show at AMI stadium on February 21 sold out within an hour after going on sale at midday.
Tickets for his Auckland show, at Mt Smart Stadium on February 25, went on sale an hour later, and are expected to be in hot demand.
Springsteen was last here in 2014 for two sold out Auckland shows, but decided to include Christchurch for this tour after his song My City of Ruins became an unofficial anthem for Christchurch's recovery from dual earthquakes.
"The fact that his song was such a big part of the rebuilding of Christchurch, I spoke to [his manager] about it and... I really campaigned for that date to be in Christchurch and it's something that I think will be very special," said promoter Michiael Gudinski.
