KEY POINTS:
Singer Brooke Fraser has made it into the US pop charts with her Albertine album - released in New Zealand two years ago - thanks to a spot on iTunes editors' picks list.
The album has sold 16,000 copies in the United States since being released there on the singer's own Wood and Bone label on May 27, the US Daily reported in California.
Nielsen SoundScan said half the US sales were made during a week in which she was featured on iTunes. The album hit number 90 on the Billboard 200 and number 4 on the top Christian and gospel albums list during the week ended July 6. Fraser's manager Campbell Smith said Albertine was also being promoted to Christian formats.
She starts a six-show tour in the southern US in August.
