Britney Spears' lawyer wants to seal all court papers in her battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline over custody of their two young sons.

Laura Wasser has asked the Superior Court to make permanent a conditional July 30 order to seal all documents dealing with the case.

"This is the perfect instance to stop the madness," Wasser told the court. "No one could have contemplated the plethora of media activity."

The court will rule on the issue until late today.
