KEY POINTS:
LOS ANGELES - Pop star Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have reached a settlement in their divorce, People magazine has reported.
Terms were not disclosed but the announcement came after a five-hour meeting between the former couple's attorneys.
"The parties signed a global settlement on all issues of their marriage and the custody of the children," a spokesman for Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told People.
A judge would have to approve the settlement for the divorce to become final.
Spears and Federline married in September 2004 after a whirlwind romance.
The couple have two children together, Sean Preston, 18 months, and Jayden James, 6 months.
Spears filed for divorce in November last year citing irreconcilible differences.
The former pop princess has recently completed a rehab programme, following a spate of erratic behaviour, which saw the 25-year-old singer shave her head and attack paparazzi with an umbrella.
