KEY POINTS:
Singer Joss Stone has asked: "Why don't British people like me?" The 20-year-old soul sensation said she had been saddened by the public's negative reaction towards her.
The Devon-raised star has spent time in the US and returned earlier this year to present at the Brit Awards, where she was mocked for speaking in an American accent. Soon after she was booed for turning up late to one of her gigs. Her second album has also failed to emulate the success of her debut.
Appearing on BBC radio, Stone told DJ Trevor Nelson: "I felt kind of sad about it actually. It's funny because the only country that hasn't liked it is my own.
She continued: "I don't really understand, to be honest. Maybe because I dye my hair, maybe because my accent's messed up."
