KEY POINTS:
The last blog drew a reaction, especially from some of the blokes on the poll! Cameron Brewer's obsessed with Jeremy Corbett; Leigh Hart's obsessed with himself and sleeping with the voting panel; and Mike King's obsessed with dribbling and flatulence.
To recap, scientists have discovered self-deprecation is a real-turn on for women. If you want to get a woman into bed, make a joke about yourself. In a not-so-scientific study, I polled a few hot, fertile women at the Herald on Sunday who picked their top ten funny, and thereby, sexy local male personalities. Here's the list:
1. Leigh Hart
2. Marc Ellis
3. Jeremy Corbett
4. Tim Wilson
5. Paul Henry
6. Dai Henwood
7. Cameron Brewer
8. Jeremy Wells
9. Marcus Lush
10. Mike King
So, is humour really an attribute a woman looks for in a man? Clever Nickname has a good point. He reckons females say they're into funny guys when they really fancy the bad boys. Fair point. I think most girls are attracted to the naughty boys, whether they admit it or not.
But funny and naughty are not necessarily mutually exclusive. It's safe to say all our 10 self-deprecators possess bad boy sides to some degree.
Don't you think Agustina rolls her eyes nonchalantly when Marc returns home to their St Marys Bay pad after another streak? Maybe she found it amusing the first time, attractive even, but now she's probably saying, 'For god sake Marc, keep it covered up!'
I've met a few of the spouses married to our list boys - Emma Brewer, Agustina Mon, Ange Hart, Megan Nicol and Rosemary Nathan (Mike's missus) - and frankly, those ladies are eligible. They're gorgeous, articulate, witty and super smart. They could have had their pick of men but they settled, sorry, picked their respective partners. Why? Because they're funny, clever men and their wit makes them sexy. What do you think? Have the pollsters missed anyone that should be on the list?
