Bowie's sheet music for sale

Sheet music signed by the late David Bowie is to be auctioned online to help fund women's projects in Asia.

The lot will go on sale on auction website eSolidar in support of the celebrity jumble sale, Rumble in the Jumble, a charity event to be held at the Oval Space venue in London on May 14.

Bids will open for the sheet music for the Bowie song Blue Jean, from his 1984 album Tonight, from today. The item comes with two photographs of Bowie and a certificate of authenticity.

Items for sale on the day of the auction include donations from a number of celebrities including a signed pair of Elton John's Versace sunglasses and clothing donated by the likes of Kate Moss and rockers Primal Scream.

The Rumble in the Jumble event is organised annually by The Music Circle, a network of females within the music industry.

The organisation is part of Annie Lennox's The Circle group, which aims to connect high-profile women to raise funds for projects which help impoverished women around the world.

All proceeds from the jumble and the auction of Bowie's sheet music will go towards the charity Oxfam's attempts to promote gender equality in Burma.

Last year's Rumble in the Jumble event raised more than US$38,100 ($55,338) for charity.
