Bond star warns Dragon Tattoo remake isn't for kids

Bond star Daniel Craig has warned audiences not to bring the kids for his latest film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

The 43-year-old star said he believed babysitters were going to make a "lot of money" out of the film, in which he plays an investigative journalist who finds himself on the trail of a vicious serial killer.

In an interview with BBC Breakfast he said the violent scenes in the film were true to the themes of violence against women in the blockbuster novel by Stieg Larsson.

"It is addressing a huge issue that serial killers on the whole are male and they kill women. It is an adult movie,'' Craig said in an interview for BBC Breakfast.

"This is one where you pay the babysitter - babysitters are going to make a lot of money out of this, I hope.''

He added: "Don't take the kids.''

The star's interview came after he revealed last night that he had enjoyed piling on the pounds for his new role.

The actor - who works out regularly to maintain his toned physique - didn't mind skipping the gym and putting on weight to play investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist in David Fincher's Hollywood remake of the Swedish-language thriller.

"It was very easy actually. I just wanted to look as normal as I possibly could so I just relaxed my exercise, and ate and drank what I wanted to,'' he revealed at the film's world premiere in London's Leicester Square.

Craig's co-star Rooney Mara, 26, was a vision in white as she braved the bitter cold in a lace creation by Givenchy Couture and matching Brian Attwood heels.

The glamorous look was a far cry from her screen alter-ego, troubled computer hacker Lisbeth Salander.

"They dyed my hair and shaved parts of it, they pierced my eyebrows. I got most of the piercings,'' she said.

"This is probably the most intense role I've had to do. But I read the books and couldn't imagine not doing this,'' she added.

The first film in the planned trilogy, which also stars Stellan Skarsgard, Geraldine James and Steven Berkoff, opens in Australian cinemas on January 12.
