The Bachelor Art Green and his new girlfriend Matilda Rice meet with nzherald.co.nz and tell us the Ten things we didn't and do need to know about the show and romance.
They've repeatedly denied rumours of a secret split but a body language expert says The Bachelor couple don't appear to be intimate lovers.
"Their body language shows more a friend zone connection than that of intimate lovers," says Suzanne Masefield of The Body Language Company.
Ms Masefield watched a Herald video interview with the couple, analysing it for signs of a genuine relationship.
Suzanne Masefield says the pair show signs of "anxiety, doubt and disconnection" at times.
She says while the pair appear friendly and close, there are certain signs that cast doubt on the state of their relationship.
"There are signs of anxiety, doubt and disconnection at times when they communicate, and the lack of eye contact is concerning at this early stage of a relationship when couples usually want to look at each other continually," she said.
"They seem to be struggling in the interview and quite weary, which could be due to something in the relationship or being guarded and protective of their new relationship being under scrutiny in the public eye as they find their way with each other."
Ms Masefield also picked up on signs that Matilda Rice was uncomfortable hearing her Bachelor boyfriend speak about other girls on the show.
Matilda played with her necklace when Art spoke about other girls, signaling she's not comfortable with the subject.
"She uses quite a few pacifying gestures touching her hair and playing with her necklace when Art talks about the other girls, signalling she's not comfortable with the subject.
"She also pulls her left arm closer to her body, distancing herself from him in a sign of self-protection."
She also found Art Green's choice of language odd.
"When Art says 'it all comes down to who I could see a future with and a long term relationship with' he looks down and so does Matilda, rather than looking at each other, showing uncertainty.
Art looks down which is a sign of uncertainty according to Suzanne Masefield.
"Then he uses quite formal language saying 'and I chose Matilda', rather than what you might imagine someone in an intimate relationship saying. As he says this, his jaw is tight and tense, which is not a sign of being relaxed about the situation. "
Rumours have circulated for weeks that the couple split up after filming the final Bachelor scenes but the couple insist they are not true.
Rice told the Herald last week that the rumours were incredibly frustrating, saying: "We are together and really happy."
Likewise, Green says the pair are very much together, even though he admits to deliberately posting obscure Instagram photos to keep people guessing.
The Herald cameraman who filmed the interview said the pair seemed to genuinely enjoy each other's company and had a lot of fun together but were clearly bored after several hours of media interviews.
