KEY POINTS:
Bad boy American singer Bobby Brown's Rotorua concert will not go ahead on Sunday and there is no word on next week's scheduled Auckland show.
Brown was set to perform in Rotorua on July 15 and in Auckland on July 18, but some questioned whether he should be kept out of the country, given his rocky past.
Brown has been in trouble with the law including on battery charges against his former wife, singer and actress Whitney Houston.
A spokesman from Rotorua's Energy Events Centre said Sunday's concert had been cancelled because the promoter never confirmed the contract for the venue.
The reason was unknown but he suspected poor ticket sales may have been a factor.
There was no word yet on the Auckland show.
A Ticketek spokeswoman said the company could not comment as there had been no confirmation as to whether or not it would go ahead.
