Bob Geldof is said to be "incandescent with rage" over his daughter's shock marriage.
It was revealed on Wednesday that 19-year-old Peaches had married rocker Max Drumney last week, and former Boomtown Rats singer Bob is set for a showdown with his daughter over the news.
He is currently on holiday in Majorca, Spain, but will demand an explanation from his daughter - who flew back to London alone yesterday - when he returns next week.
A source said: "Bob wants answers about what has been going on. Max is keen to meet him and explain he only has his daughter's future at heart. But he has a tough job on his hands.
"Peaches is expecting fireworks, although she knows her dad will respect her wishes."
Bob was not told about Peaches' plans to wed the 23-year-old Chester French drummer until two hours before the ceremony and, in an emotional phone call, was said to have yelled at her, "What have you done? You hardly know the boy."
According to another insider, he is now refusing to speak to Peaches until his holiday return.
The source said: "Bob can't get over the fact she did this on a whim.
"Right now he doesn't want to see her. But he's incandescent with rage and she is in for a huge talking to when they finally meet up."
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Peaches - who collapsed last month
following a rumoured drugs overdose - married Max to take her away from the London drug scene she and boyfriend Faris Badwan were involved in.
A friend revealed to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Peaches was ashamed of the overdose and worried she'd end up like Amy Winehouse. She and Faris had started regularly using drugs and she realised it was becoming a problem.
"So when she met Max again, who is a nice boy and a Harvard graduate, she thought being alongside him would steer her life on a different path. He was the nicest boy she could find quickly enough and was the key to her escaping the drugs.
"Only Peaches would go so far as to think a wedding would be the best way to go about this though."
