Blues-rock guitar fans will be delighted to hear that prolific New York artist Joe Bonamassa is returning to New Zealand for one show, at the ASB Theatre in Auckland on October 7.
This will be the first opportunity New Zealand audiences have to hear the live version of tracks from new album Blues of Desperation, which was released in March, following 19 other solo albums over the past 27 years, of which 15 reached number 1 on the Billboard Blues chart.
Bonamassa has a reputation as one of the hardest-touring modern artists, playing an average of 100 shows per year, everywhere from the Montreal Jazz Festival to Radio City Music Hall.
He founded the Keeping Blues Alive Foundation to help promote the heritage of blues to the next generation and supplement the loss of funding for music education in public schools.
