KEY POINTS:
Next week's Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards can already claim to be the biggest production yet - Wednesday's event is the first at Vector Arena after years of rocking the Aotea Centre.
And organisers are hoping an audience of 5000 will give the show a stadium-sized response with ticket-buying fans able to get up close to the onstage action. There will be performances from Kora, Shihad, Cut off your Hands, Anika Moa, and leading nominee Tiki Taane who will be backed by the Te Pou O Mangatawhiri Kapa Haka group.
Also, as part of the honours bestowed on our cover stars Straitjacket Fits, all-gal one-off supergoup the Fast Women - Fur Patrol's Julia Deans, Anika Moa, Lani Purkis and Greta Anderson - will be playing their interpretation of She Speeds.
Led by MC Dai Henwood, the night's presenters include Spearhead's Michael Franti (presenting best Aotearoa roots and best hip-hop album), Dave Dobbyn and fellow Dude Peter Urlich - and because this is a CanWest show, various cast members from Outrageous Fortune, bro'Town and the 3News team.
Before the awards get under way, C4 presenter Jermaine Leef is hosting Vodafone Select Live from the red carpet where there will be spot prizes for fans and plenty of autograph opportunities from 4pm onwards.
For those not up to all that excitement in person, C4 will broadcast the show from 8.30pm on Wednesday night.
