Kiwi documentary-makers have received a $2.5 million dollar funding boost.
NZ On Air and the New Zealand Film Commission have set up the fund to aid New Zealand filmmakers looking to shoot feature-length documentaries.
Filmmakers will be able to register for funding next month, with a view to giving successful projects the go-ahead in October.
Film Commission chief executive Graeme Mason said his agency was committed to growing locally-made documentaries.
He said the intent was to maintain the funding and grow that part of the screen sector.
