Comedian Danny Bhoy is the first international act to be confirmed as part of the NZ International Comedy Festival (April 29 to May 22).
The Scottish larrikin, who has been referred to as the stand-up equivalent of Bill Bryson, was last here in 2009. He has announced a 10-date tour of his new show, titled Messenger (please do not shoot) which is based, like his others, on his life experiences.
It starts at Takapuna's Bruce Mason Centre on May 9 and finishes in New Plymouth on May 21, with shows in Wellington, Hastings, Christchurch, Hamilton, Invercargill and Oamaru in between. He performs at the Aotea Centre on May 16.
