LOS ANGELES - Football star David Beckham and his wife, Victoria, have bought a multimillion-dollar, six-bedroom Beverly Hills mansion for their summer move to Los Angeles, celebrity websites reported.
Victoria Beckham, the former "Posh" in the 1990s girl group The Spice Girls, was pictured flying into Los Angeles at the weekend apparently to sign the contract on the house, which had an asking price of US$22 million ($29.7 million), according to the reports.
Real estate blogger real estalker said the house where the Beckhams and their three children will live when David Beckham starts a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy football team is a 13,000 sq foot, nine-bathroom home.
Publicists for the Beckhams could not be reached today for comment.
People magazine said the house was "modern, airy, very light and spacious with lots of windows."
"The house they've chosen is big but not huge," People quoted a source close to the couple as saying. "That said, it is big enough for them as a family of five, along with additional space for family members that will visit from Britain."
The couple are expected to move to Los Angeles in July. Victoria Beckham will chronicle the move in a six-episode reality show for US television and David Beckham, the former England captain who currently plays for Real Madrid, starts a US$250 million ($338 million) contract with Galaxy in August.
