KEY POINTS:
The BBC has apologised after a radio DJ suggested she had trouble making out black people in the dark.
Sarah Kennedy, who hosts an early morning show on the BBC's Radio 2, told listeners she almost ran over a black pedestrian because she could not see him.
She had been discussing how children needed to wear visible clothing to be more easily seen on their way to and from school.
The BBC said it was sorry if the comments had offended anybody.
