Barnett and Cole take out Dancing with the Stars

Simon Barnett has been crowned the 2015 winner of Dancing with the Stars, beating The Bachelor contestant Chrystal Chenery.

Barnett was emotional after the announcement was made moments ago.

"It was a mission," he said.

"Not to be flippant but honest to goodness...the dancers deserve 90 per cent of the credit and we deserve 10 per cent.

"They deserve the lion's share of the credit. But the celebs deserve some credit too."

Barnett, who danced with Vanessa Cole in her first season on the show, thanked his wife and daughters for their support.

"I am enormously thankful to my wife," he said, tearing up again.

"I'm away from home a lot."
