Bachelor's dad also falls for Matilda

Bachelorette Matilda Rice hasn't only won the heart of The Bachelor Art Green - she's also won the heart of his father.

Green told the Herald on Sunday today his dad thinks Rice is "amazing" and is her biggest fan.

"My dad is her biggest fan, every time he sees her he gets really excited," he said.
"Everyone thinks she's amazing and they are all looking forward to getting to know her a bit better."

Fresh from filming the After the Final Rose, Green was manning his Clean Paleo stand at Farro Fresh in Grey Lynn today where only a trickle of people popped in to see The Bachelor in the flesh.

He said the couple were already planning their next date.

"Maddie has something planned for us next weekend, but I'm bit sure what it is," he said.
"My ideal date now would just be something very low key. Really chilled, escaping with Maddie somewhere private."

The 26-year-old said he was the show was finally over so that he and Rice could go out together in public.

"I'm feeling stoked and really happy the whole thing is over. I'm happy we can have a real relationship in the real world," he said.

Green said there are no hard feelings between him and the girls.

"It's not fragile at all, everyone's friends actually - all the girls get along really well and I'm looking forward to us all being friends."

He added that Rice was fine with his other friendships and said the group bonded over the experience and have grown close over the past few months.

"We all went through it together and were in a situation no one else in New Zealand went through," he said.

He believes all the girls were portrayed accurately on the show, but has changed his views somewhat on Chrystal in particular.

"I didn't see how funny she was at the time," he said.

"The stuff she said was so hilarious, I think her sense of humour was awesome - she's very sharp, direct and to the point."

He says the show has been mentally and emotionally challenging but finds relief in exercising.

"The way I relieve stress is with exercise and go to Ludus Magnus in Eden Terrace and have a good blow-out," he says.
