MediaWorks content director Andrew Szusterman called season one a "breakout hit".
"We go into a second season knowing this show works, not only with the audience but also finding love. Art and Matilda are complete proof of that.
"If you've been thinking about being a part of the next season of The Bachelor NZ I encourage you to register, it really could be you next time."
The show holds weekly rose ceremonies, at which the Bachelor presents a single red rose to each of the bachelorettes that he would like to get to know better.
Any woman left without a rose packs her bags and leaves The Bachelor New Zealand mansion.
Potential bachelorettes can apply for the show here.
The pitch from the producers: Do you have it in you?

• You will be resident in the mansion for a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 7 weeks and you will not be able to attend your usual place of work during that time
• You will receive a small fee for each day you spend in the mansion, to cover your expenses
