Avery stoked at Cannes

pick Australian filmmaker Julius Avery had never been to France but now he's stoked that his short movie Jerrycan has been picked to compete at the Cannes International Film Festival.

"I just couldn't believe it, I remember being just thrilled to get short-listed and when I was rung, that old cliche of having to pinch yourself was so true," Avery said.

Jerrycan tells the story of a young boy who is bullied into making a potentially fatal decision.
