Australian band Pendulum, who became a huge festival act around the world due to their incendiary mix of rock and drum 'n' bass, have split up.
The six-piece told fans there would be "no further" concerts or albums in the pipeline after they announced a break from live shows last year.
The band's creative pairing - Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen - are focusing instead on their Knife Party project, which recently toured Australia as part of Future Music Festival.
Pendulum formed in Perth in 2002 and later settled in London where they became a regular fixture on the touring circuit, playing up to 30 festivals a year.
They released three studio albums, the most successful being 2010's Immersion which reached No. 1 in the UK album chart and No. 3 in Australia.
