The time has come for the opening night of Dancing with the Stars New Zealand.

Featuring an eclectic cast of Kiwi personalities - including a former Playschool presenter, two politicians and several MediaWorks staff members - the reality dance off is sure to bring its share of thrills and spills.

We can't think of a better way to celebrate the occasion than to capture every glorious moment with a live blog.

Earlier in the week, we had a few predictions as to what might unfold during the series.
