KEY POINTS:
Ten top senior artists have donated works to an exhibition at Remuera Gallery, with proceeds to be donated towards research into neurological diseases.
With more than 30,000 New Zealanders reported to suffer from diseases such as Alzheimer's, Huntington's and Parkinson's, it's a health issue which touches us all.
The artists are Agnes Wood, Barry Lett, Helen Pollock, Jan Nigro, Jeff Thomson, Lois McIvor, Mary McIntyre, Nigel Brown, Paul Radford and Sylvia Siddell. Wood, who has a daughter with Alzheimer's, was the inspiration for the show, and the gallery hopes to continue fundraisers for the same issue in future.
University of Auckland medical and health sciences professor of anatomy Richard Faull will open the exhibition on Friday at 6pm, and it will run at the gallery at 360 Remuera Rd until May 18.
