Ariana Grande grovels over 'doughnut fiasco'

Ariana Grande has issued a second apology for her recent bakery misdemeanours, admitting she was disgusted with her own 'ugly' behaviour.

In a four-minute long video, the pop star apologises for the "doughnut fiasco" and also explains she missed her opportunity in her first apology because she was too busy preaching about her issues with the food industry.

Grande was caught on security camera footage in a doughnut shop in California, with backing dancer Ricky Alvarez, licking doughnuts and complaining about her country.

"I hate Americans. I hate America," she's heard in the video, broadcast on gossip site TMZ.

Since then, local police have announced they are investigating the matter, as well as public health officials.

In her second video, Grande admits she "kind of missed" her opportunity to sincerely apologise the first time around because she was "too busy preaching about my issues with the food industry".

The singer continues in the rambling post saying she's "never been prouder to be American".

"I feel like seeing the video of yourself behaving poorly that you have no idea was taken is such a rude awakening that it's like you don't know what to do," she said.

"I was so disgusted with myself... I like shoved myself in a pillow and wanted to disappear...

"I apologise for my poor choice of words and for my behaviour. Seeing how ugly it looks when you behave a certain way makes you want to never behave that way again."

Grande has vowed to learn from her behvaiour and said she never wants to be anything but a positive influence on her fans, who she calls her "babes".

Whether a four-minute video is enough to get the police off her back remains to be seen, but Grande appears to have kept her millions of fans happy, with #WeForgiveYouAriana one of the top Twitter trends not long after the apology was issued.
